The Trustees of the Yvonne A M Smith Charitable Trust are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2012/2013 scholarship is Charlotte Greenfield.

Charlotte will be studying for a Master of Science in Journalism at Columbia University.

Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English.  Charlotte is currently undertaking a four-month internship at The Jakarta Globe, a prominent English lanuage newspaper in Indonesia.  She has reported on issues relating to health and poverty, technology, business and international affairs. Charlotte’s articles have been featured on the front page of the newspaper and become the top-read story on the paper’s website.

Charlotte was chosen out of 40 applicants of a very high standard to be awarded the $50,000 Yvonne A M Smith Charitable Trust Scholarship.
